Is this bad for my rats?

When I study for my exams I like to study with my rats running around on my table. I take the scrap paper I don't need anymore and give it to them to play with. It often ends up in their cage and I was wondering if the paper is bad for them. It is lined notebook paper with random writing in pen. ThanksIs this bad for my rats?
The paper should be fine as long as it doesn't have too much ink on it. Even then, the rats will most likely not eat the paper, just chew on it. I bet they have a lot of fun with it!

Good luck with your rats!Is this bad for my rats?
Maybe not paper that has ink on it...that might upset their stomach if they decide to eat it....I find a better alternative to paper is material....I cut up my old clothes or what ever that i dont wear anymore and tie it to various places in the cages....they love chewing it off ...and it entertains them for hours!! :D
Hi there

Yes the paper is fine for them - they will enjoy collecting it and making a nest. Funnily enough, i caught my naughtiest rat trying to drag my entire notepad across the room last night into their cage - little blighters! lol

It is probably safe. I used to have two rats and I would give them all kinds of paper. They were like little live paper shredders. heh heh.

They were the best pets I ever owned. I plan get more someday.
