I would say no. It can be very stressful for them. A friend of mine bred her female rat, who ended up having 13 stillborn babies. Then, the rat became so aggressive that they had to rehome her. Another issue would be finding good homes for all of the babies you'll have. Just dumping them at a pet store is not a good reason to breed them. They will be your responsibility. Good luck!Is it a good idea to breed my pet rats if so why or why not?? plz i really want to know?
Why do you want to breed them? Are you going to sell the babies or use them as snake food or something? Because if you try to sell them to most pet stores either they won't take them because they already have enough rats or they will use the babies as snake food. Do you know the parents of your rats? Many rats that you get from the same pet store are actually siblings, even if you got them at the same store at different times. Some stores in the same city will even use the same breeder, so just about all the rats at the pet stores are related. You probably don't want to be making more inbred rats in the world. There are many reasons not to bred them and the only reason to bred them is because you have a plan for what to do with the babies, and there will be a lot of babies. Is it a good idea to breed my pet rats if so why or why not?? plz i really want to know?
Ya I would breed them. You can always give them away to like Petco or Petsmart if you cant handle the babies. But they have a lot of babies at a time so you would need to be prepared. But if i were you i would breed them
What are you planning to do with all the babies? They will have several at a time. It's probably not a very good idea.
