Use any thing that they can chew up safely. try a hammock. little balls for rats that jingle and toys that hang up and you can bat them around. you have specialy made little toys. things that make your rat work work for treats like cabob with treats on it. In the wild rats must work for their food. tubes, running wheel, ropes, and maybe one of those small hamster balls it can go into and roll around.also, if u dont wanna buy tubes u can just use those cardboard toilet rolls
