Can rats live in c&c cages or will they be able to get out of them?

i'm pretty sure that the grids have 1';x1'; squares, so a baby rat could easily escape. only full grown rats couldn't. you would need to construct a lid. also, the hight isn't good. you need it 2 be at least 24 inches.

its probably best not to keep your rats in a C%26amp;C. they mostly only work for guinea pigs. rats can climb! Can rats live in c%26amp;c cages or will they be able to get out of them?
The grids that you use for the cage, have spacing that is far too large for most rats. I once tried to make the rat version of the type of cage, and it ended up being more trouble than it was worth. First off, the spacing was much too large, and even my big boys could fit their heads through. It was also not very steady.

In the end I ended up taking it apart and returning the grids. I took the loss on the items that were not returnable and learned that homemade cages are usually not worth the effort. Can rats live in c%26amp;c cages or will they be able to get out of them?
I think they will be able to get out. Rodents can squeeze themselves through very small holes.
