Should i separate my rats?

i have a rat that is sneezing a bit, the vet said it was just the beginnings of a uri and gave me antibiotics for him. i have recently adopted another rat, should i separate them? or should i not worry because the infection never completely started?Should i separate my rats?
First of all, you've already brought the other rat in the same house, there is no point in separating them at this point.

3 week quarantine http://ratguide.com/health/basics/quaran鈥?/a> (separate air space)

If the rat you just adopted did not go through any quarantine before bringing him home (from a pet store) then you have exposed the resident rat to any illnesses. Whereas your newly adopted rat may not be having any symptoms your current rat will.

Rats have myco, all domestic rats do. It is the flare ups you are dealing with.

I highly recommend The Rat Health Care Guide http://www.ratfanclub.org/books.html.

Also, when visiting any store that has rats (you don't even have to go near them) it is advisable to wait 3 hours before going home to your rats.Should i separate my rats?
Yes, you should just incase it become any worse, you don't want to have 2 sick rats. Also what gender are your rats. If their opposite sex, I'd be expecting some 'grandchildren.' I really hope your rats feel better. Remember to stay involved with giving your rat some medicine, because we don't want the sickness to climax to the point of gaining another more serious disease. Also if you have the flu or some other sickness, as a human, I'd be careful being around your rats. Diseases/sickness can transfer from human to rat and vice verse. Hope this helps. Hope you rat feels better. And Happy July!
Well if ones a girl and ones a boy then you might want to separate them in case they plan on creating a bigger rat family. Unless you got them fixed. So anyways back to your question. Yes you might want to seperate them just to take percautions of the other one geting sick. Oh and HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!! =)
Yes, but they should be in seperate airways because the sickness runs though the air.DO you have a friend that can take him/her?

If not I guess you can keep them in a seperate room. But if the rat is already in your house don't worry about the sep. house thing.
If I were you I would seperate them just to be safe, but you probably don't have to. That's funny my rats sneeze like crazy too, but i took him to the vet and they said he's fine. Good luck with your sneezing ratty-boo
i woiuld seperate them.

for a while at least.

if one rat is sick and it is close to another rat, it will likely get the other rat sick too.

keeping them in diff. rooms for a little while is the best way to go :)
I would separate them. Better safe than sorry, especially since respiratory infections can be fatal for rats.
